The Consortium

Who we are

The Swiss Consortium for Sustainable Health and Ecological Transformation of the Health System (ETHICH) is an association of national Swiss organisations that aim to coordinate their actions for an equitable and ecologically sustainable health system within planetary boundaries. The vision shared by these organisations is the one presented in the Roadmap “For a sustainable Swiss healthcare system within planetary boundaries” (Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences, 2022).

Our goals

  • to stimulate and coordinate initiatives by organisations active in the Swiss health sector to reduce the environmental impact of healthcare services and promote the ecological transformation of the healthcare system.

  • to participate in the development of a common vision of what Swiss healthcare services within planetary boundaries would mean in practice.

  • to establish links with political players in the health system at national level in order to accelerate the socio-ecological transformation of the health system.
